Sasaram. ‘National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers’ (NABH) has been granted to Narayan Medical College and Hospital, Jamuhar. NABH is a constituent board of the ‘Quality Council of India,’ established to set standards for healthcare institutions and operate accreditation programs aimed at ensuring patient safety and quality of care. NABH prescribes rigorous standards for healthcare facilities. It evaluates whether healthcare institutions uphold patient rights. Additionally, it ensures the implementation of strict protocols regarding infection control, cleanliness and hygiene, as well as medication safety (covering documentation, storage and administration) and the maintenance of safe facilities equipped with well-maintained medical infrastructure. To obtain this certification, a hospital must demonstrate its quality standards before various assessment committees; this achievement is attained only after a thorough evaluation confirms that the facility meets the required benchmarks. Notably, there are no other NABH-accredited healthcare institutions in the surrounding districts. This achievement by Narayan Medical College and Hospital, Jamuhar is considered highly significant, stemming from its demonstrated competence and quality. Officials from the hospital management including Principal Dr. Puneet Kumar Singh, Medical Superintendent Dr. Binod Shankar Singh, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Abhishek Kamendu, Assistant Registrar Ajay Kumar Singh and General Manager (Hospital Operations) Upendra Kumar Singh have expressed their happiness over this accomplishment.
