Konch (Gayaji). Two sisters from the same family went missing under suspicious circumstances from a village in Kanausi Panchayat on July 4. Following a complaint filed by the aggrieved father, an FIR has been registered at the Konch police station and the police have initiated an investigation. In his complaint, the father stated that both his daughters aged 20 and 19 left home without informing anyone around 8 AM on July 4. After an extensive search, it was discovered that a local youth had abducted the elder daughter with the intention of marriage, while a youth from Guraru had taken the younger daughter away. The father also mentioned that both girls had left home previously as well; on that occasion, family members and villagers had persuaded them to return. The family is now distressed by the recurrence of this incident. Speaking on the matter, Konch Station House Officer (SHO) Sudeh Kumar stated that a case (Case No. 230/26) has been registered based on the complainant’s statement. A team has been formed to recover the girls and arrest the accused and raids are currently underway. The police stated that every aspect of the case is being investigated.
