  • ‘Vartalaap-2026’ Media Workshop Concluded in Jamshedpur

    Jamshedpur. The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Ranchi, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized the “Vartalaap-2026” media workshop in Jamshedpur. The theme of the workshop was “12 Years of Trust, Development, Public Welfare, Farmer Empowerment and Kisan Samman Nidhi.” Approximately 70 journalists from the district and surrounding areas participated in the event. The objective of the workshop was to establish a meaningful and fact-based dialogue with the media regarding the Central Government’s public welfare schemes, farmer-centric initiatives and topics linked to the resolve of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).
    The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the welcoming of guests. Addressing the inaugural session, Shri Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General, PIB Ranchi/Bhubaneswar, stated that continuous and meaningful dialogue between the government and the media strengthens the democratic system. He elaborated on the objectives and utility of the ‘Vartalaap’ initiative and highlighted the crucial role played by the media in disseminating accurate and factual information about public welfare schemes to the general public.
    Shri Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Media and Communication Officer, PIB Ranchi, provided information on the key achievements of the Central Government over the past 12 years and the positive changes brought about in the lives of ordinary citizens through public welfare schemes.
    In the technical session, Shri Diwakar Kumar, Head and Assistant Director of the Doordarshan News Unit, Jharkhand, described initiatives such as ‘Drone Didi,’ Soil Health Cards and modern agricultural techniques as significant steps towards farmer empowerment. Shri Surendra Singh Munda, Senior Scientist (Agricultural Engineering) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, East Singhbhum, highlighted measures to increase farmers’ income through scientific farming and new technologies. Mr. Gaurav Kumar Pushkar, Head of the PIB Ranchi office, provided information regarding welfare schemes for journalists. Padma Shri awardee and senior journalist Mr. Balbir Dutt emphasized the role of a positive and responsible media in achieving the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047′ (Developed India 2047). District Public Relations Officer Mr. Panchanan Oraon shared his views on matters concerning farmers’ interests. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks following the question-and-answer session. Shivani Kumari Kesari, a Young Professional at PIB Ranchi, delivered a presentation on the functioning of PIB. Information Assistant Prince Kumar, Young Professional Shivendra Nath Tiwari, and other staff members played an active role in the event.
