Gayaji. A security guard employed by KCC Company died in an accident near the railway tracks close to Paraiya Bridge (under the jurisdiction of Paraiya Police Station) on Wednesday. The incident, which occurred while he was on duty, is attributed to the negligence of the vehicle operator.

The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Pramod Yadav, son of Indradev Yadav (alias ‘Netaji’), a resident of Chaturi Bigha village in the Konch police station area. According to reports, Pramod had been working the night shift as a security guard for KCC Company for the past nine months. As usual, he had arrived at the construction site in Paraiya from his village for his shift on Wednesday evening. Eyewitnesses stated that Pramod was sitting on a chair and eating his meal while on duty. At that moment, a road roller engaged in railway track widening work went out of control, moved towards him and crushed him.

Pramod’s body was severely mutilated in the accident.
Upon receiving news of the incident, the deceased’s family members and a large number of villagers rushed to the scene. DSP Sushant Kumar Chanchal, accompanied by the Paraiya police, also arrived at the site. The police took possession of the body and sent it to the Medical College in Gaya for a post-mortem examination. The body was handed over to the family following the autopsy.

Following the incident, the family has refused to accept this as a mere accident. They have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and action against those responsible. The police have stated that further action will be taken only after the post-mortem report is received and the investigation is concluded.

KCC Company has prepared an agreement to provide ₹7 lakh to the deceased’s wife, Jeera Devi. Additionally, the company has agreed to pay her approximately ₹12,000 per month for the duration of the agreement.
