Patna.The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHM), Hajipur, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully concluded the Third Batch of the Five-Day “Skill Development Training and Orientation Programme” for Cooks serving in various Battalions and Training Centres of the Bihar Special
Armed Police (BSAP). The valedictory ceremony marked the successful completion of the programme with the distribution of certificates to all participants in recognition of their commitment to professional excellence and skill enhancement.
The training programme conducted from 06 July to 10 July 2026, focused on enhancing participants’ knowledge and practical skills in food hygiene, nutrition, safe food handling practices, kitchen management, personal hygiene, sanitation and professional culinary techniques. The initiative aims to strengthen food quality, hygiene standards and nutritional practices across BSAP establishments.
The programme was jointly inaugurated by Anupam Kumar (Senior Lecturer, IHM Hajipur), Mrs. Sakshi Roy (Deputy Superintendent of Police, BSAP-8), Shashi Bhushan (Editor, Manava Adhikar Today), Arun Kumar (Lecturer), Murtaza Kamal (Assistant Administrative Officer) and Satyapriya Behera (Assistant Lecturer).
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Sakshi Roy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, BSAP-8, appreciated the initiative taken by IHM Hajipur and observed that the programme has equipped cooks serving in various BSAP battalions with valuable practical knowledge and modern culinary skills.
Anupam Kumar, Senior Lecturer, congratulated all the trainees for their enthusiasm, discipline and active participation throughout the programme. He noted that every participant had successfully acquired modern culinary techniques and professional kitchen practices that would prove beneficial in their careers and enhance the quality of services rendered in the force.
Speaking during the valedictory ceremony, Murtaza Kamal, Assistant Administrative Officer, informed that the Batch-1
Five-Day Skill Development Training and Orientation Programme for BSAP Cooks commenced on 22 June 2026 and with the successful completion of Batch-3, the Institute has trained a significant number of BSAP cooks under this important capacity-building initiative.
He further stated that the 10-Day Skill Development Training and Orientation Programme for Cooks and Khansamas working in the Governor Secretariat, Patna, which commenced on 29 June 2026, also concluded on 10 July 2026. Certificates were distributed to participants of both programmes during the ceremony.
