Gayaji/pokhara. Rohit Sharma from Chichaura, who had gone to Nepal for a holiday with friends, will never return. A young man from Chichaura village located in the Khajuri Panchayat of Konch block, Gaya district died on Friday after drowning in Phewa Lake in Pokhara. The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old Rohit Sharma, son of the late Sanjay Sharma. According to reports, Rohit had gone on a trip to Nepal with four friends. On Friday, after visiting the famous Tal Barahi Temple in Pokhara, the group went to the banks of Phewa Lake. While there, Rohit entered the lake to bath and ventured into deep water. Local residents and a rescue team retrieved him in an unconscious state from a depth of approximately 10 feet and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Social worker Kunal Kumar confirmed the incident. News of the tragedy plunged Chichaura village into mourning and his family members are inconsolable. The Pokhara police have conducted a post-mortem and initiated the process of sending the body back to the village on Saturday morning. The matter is under investigation.
