Patna. The Janata Dal (United) has intensified preparations for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled for next year. On Saturday, during the JD(U) Uttar Pradesh state executive meeting held at the Chaudhary Charan Singh Auditorium in Lucknow, Shravan Kumar Bihar’s Minister for Rural Development and Information & Public Relations and leader of the JD(U) legislative party called upon party workers to throw their full weight into election preparations.
Addressing the meeting, Shravan Kumar stated that under the leadership of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar has achieved remarkable milestones in development, good governance and social welfare over the past two decades. Several schemes related to women’s empowerment, rural development, education, health and social justice have now become exemplary models for the entire country. He urged the workers to take Bihar’s development model and JD(U)’s development-oriented vision to every village in Uttar Pradesh.
He asserted that JD(U) would enter the 2027 Assembly election fray with full strength.
Shravan Kumar advised workers to remain constantly in touch with the public, listen to their grievances and disseminate information about the party’s policies and public-welfare schemes. He expressed confidence that through concerted efforts, JD(U) would play a significant role in the politics of Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting was presided over by JD(U) Uttar Pradesh State President Anup Singh Patel. He announced that, with an eye on the 2027 Assembly elections, conferences would be organized across the state at the mandal (block/cluster), district and assembly constituency levels. This would be followed by a state-level conference, which JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Jha would also attend.
A consensus was also reached on reviewing the names of potential candidates, strengthening the organization down to the booth level and ensuring the active participation of party workers. Members of the state executive committee, district presidents, heads of various wings and state office-bearers were present at the meeting.
