Gayaji. In a significant change to the governing body of the city’s prestigious Mirza Ghalib College, Advocate Shakeel Ahmed Khan has been unanimously elected as the new Secretary. This decision was taken during a meeting of the governing body.
Shakeel Ahmed Khan is a lawyer by profession and has long contributed actively and selflessly to the college’s activities as a member of the governing body. Upon his election as Secretary, he pledged to work in a democratic and transparent manner for the all-round development of the college. He stated that efforts would be made to take the college to new heights with the cooperation of all members, teachers, and staff.
It was reported that the former Secretary, Dr. Hafizur Rahman Khan, was unable to discharge his duties due to health-related reasons. Consequently, the governing body unanimously elected Shakeel Ahmed Khan as the new Secretary.
Following his appointment, members of the governing body, teachers, non-teaching staff, and prominent members of society extended their congratulations and best wishes to Shakeel Ahmed Khan. The college Principal, Dr. Md. Ali Hussain, also conveyed his best wishes for the new role, expressing confidence that under Khan’s leadership, Mirza Ghalib College would achieve new milestones in development.
