Patna. Bihar Vidyapeeth-run Deshratna Rajendra Prasad shikshak Prashikshan Mahavidyalay, Sadaqat Ashram, Patna, organised an Orientation and Interactive Introduction Programme on Monday for the newly admitted students of the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Programme, Session 2026–2028. The programme was aimed at familiarising the trainees with the glorious legacy of Bihar Vidyapeeth, the academic culture of the institution, its code of discipline and the broader objectives of teacher education.
Presiding over the programme, Vijoy Prakash, President of Bihar Vidyapeeth and a retired senior officer of the Indian Administrative Service , highlighted the historic contribution of Bihar Vidyapeeth to India’s freedom movement.
Emphasising the significance of the teaching profession, he remarked, “A teacher is the architect of society and nation-building.” He urged the newly admitted trainees to uphold the ideals, values and mission of Bihar Vidyapeeth and become worthy ambassadors of the institution in the years ahead.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rana Awadhesh, Secretary of Bihar Vidyapeeth and a retired senior IAS officer, shared memories from his student life and recalled the inspirational patriotic song, “Hum Laye Hain Toofan Se Kishti Nikal Kar, Is Desh Ko Rakhna Mere Bachchon Sambhal Kar.” He said that the message conveyed through these lines remains equally relevant for aspiring teachers today. He emphasised that the future of the nation rests with the younger generation and it is teachers who shape that future by nurturing responsible, enlightened and compassionate citizens.
Dr. Mridula Prakash, Director of Education, introduced the trainees to the philosophy of School of Creative Learning, an institution founded by her to promote creative, child-centred and innovative pedagogical practices. She stated that the same innovative approaches would be integrated into the teacher education programme of the college.
Welcoming the trainees, Dr. Poonam Verma, Principal of the College, explained the academic regulations, code of conduct and institutional discipline.
Shri Awadhesh K. Narayan, Joint Secretary of Bihar Vidyapeeth, highlighted the distinctive features of the teacher education programme. He stated that teacher training extends beyond the acquisition of knowledge and focuses equally on the development of professional skills and positive behavioural transformation.
On the occasion, Shri Pramod Kumar Karn, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Atal Incubation Centre introduced the trainees to the activities of the Tinkering Lab and various innovation-driven initiatives.
The event concluded in a warm, inspiring and academically enriching atmosphere, marking the beginning of a meaningful educational journey for the future teachers.
