Konch (Gayaji). Thieves went on a spree in the Aanti police station area late at night. Miscreants targeted one house in Kanchanpur village and three in Ghonghimath village, making off with jewelry and cash worth lakhs of rupees. Police arrived upon receiving information about the incidents and have initiated an investigation. According to reports, thieves entered the home of Arvind Yadav (son of Ramdeni Yadav) in Kanchanpur village via the roof. They latched the door from the outside and tied it with a cloth string to prevent the family members sleeping inside from coming out. They then broke open boxes and a Godrej almirah, stealing jewelry worth approximately ₹2 lakh, including a silver bowl. The family members woke up during the incident and when they raised an alarm, the thieves fled with the stolen goods. That same night, the thieves also struck the nearby village of Ghonghimath. Here, thefts were committed around 3 AM at the homes of Shiv Kumar Yadav, Kumari Yadav and Parshuram Yadav. Jewelry and cash worth lakhs were reportedly stolen from all three houses. Upon learning of the incidents, Anti Station House Officer (SHO) Deepak Kumar Rao arrived at the scene with a police team and inspected the sites. A case has been registered against unknown thieves based on the complaints filed by the victims. The police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras and questioning suspects. Meanwhile, the series of thefts across four houses in a single night has created an atmosphere of panic in the area. Villagers have demanded increased night patrols.
