Nabinagar (Aurangabad). NTPC Nabinagar has given wings to the dreams of 61 rural girls through the Girl Child Empowerment Campaign-2026. The closing ceremony of this high-level residential educational training campaign which began on June 2nd with 61 girls was held on Saturday at the project premises. During the ceremony, the participants presented a variety of captivating performances, including dance, drama, music, art and yoga demonstrations.
On this occasion, the chief guest, L.K. Behera ,Regional Executive Director (Eastern Region-1) of NTPC extended his best wishes to the girls and thanked their families. In his address, he stated that the objective of the ‘Girl Child Empowerment Campaign’ is to uncover the latent talent of rural girls and empower them, enabling them to bring about positive change in their families and villages.

It is worth noting that since the campaign’s inception in 2023, 180 rural girls have received training, and 11 selected students are currently pursuing free education at Bal Bharati Public School with NTPC’s support.
This year, 61 students selected from schools in the Barun and Nabinagar blocks participated in the residential workshop. During the campaign, the girls received training in subjects such as Mathematics, English and Hindi, alongside instruction in computer skills, karate, yoga and other disciplines. Additionally, hostel facilities and nutritious meals were provided within the project premises to ensure their holistic development. Six girls selected through this campaign will soon be enrolled by NTPC at Bal Bharati Public School, granting them access to free education up to Class 12.
In addition to L.K. Behera, the event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Aarti Behera (President, Swara Mahila Sangh), Anil Kumar T.C. (General Manager – O&M), Rakesh Sharma (General Manager – Project), Rafakat Khan (Deputy Commandant, CISF) and Omkar Nath (Additional General Manager – HR).
