Patna.Bihar Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr. Prem Kumar has extended his congratulations and best wishes to sports journalists across the country and the world on the occasion of World Sports Journalists Day. He stated that this day is observed to honor and encourage sports journalists, recognizing their sense of duty, dedication and significant contributions.
In a press release, the Assembly Speaker noted that sports journalism plays a vital role in the development and promotion of sports culture and in conveying the achievements of athletes to society.
He mentioned that the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) initiated the observance of World Sports Journalists Day in 1994 to mark its 71st anniversary. The AIPS was established on July 2, 1924, during the Paris Olympics.
Dr. Prem Kumar remarked that this day offers an opportunity to honor on a global scale the efforts, dedication and commitment of sports journalists who perform the crucial task of delivering the latest and most accurate information regarding sporting events to the general public. Wishing all sports journalists a bright future, he urged them to continue their excellent work in the field of sports journalism.
