New Delhi. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has begun an important ten-day diplomatic tour from July 5 to 15, 2026, covering six countries — Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, the United States, and Belgium. The visit aims to strengthen India’s global partnerships and discuss key international developments.
From July 5 to 10, Dr. Jaishankar will meet leaders of the four Gulf nations. The discussions are expected to focus on regional stability after recent developments linked to the U.S.–Iran peace agreement, securing India’s energy supplies, and protecting the interests of the large Indian community living in the Gulf region.
After completing the Gulf visit, he will travel to New York on July 13 to launch India’s campaign for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028–29 term. The final leg of the tour will take place in Brussels on July 14 and 15, where he will attend the third India-EU Trade and Technology Council meeting to boost cooperation in trade and technology.
