    Aurangabad. District Magistrate Smt. Abhilasha Sharma honored officials and distinguished individuals with momentos and shawls at the conference hall of the Yojana Bhavan within the Collectorate. They were recognized for their remarkable contributions to the preservation and digitization of manuscripts in the district under the “Gyan Bharatam Mission.”
    These include manuscripts of historical and cultural significance written on paper, Bhojpatra (birch bark), palm leaves, cloth, metal and other traditional media.
    The objective of this campaign is to preserve India’s rich knowledge tradition, historical records and ancient texts for future generations, thereby enabling the widespread dissemination of the knowledge contained within them at national and international levels through research, translation and publication.
    Under the able guidance of District Magistrate Smt. Abhilasha Sharma, a total of 26,158 handwritten documents and manuscripts were successfully digitized in the district during this special campaign, which ran from March 15, 2026, to June 15, 2026.

    With this remarkable achievement, Aurangabad district secured the sixth position in the state-level survey. This accomplishment reflects the administration’s commitment and collective efforts toward preserving the district’s historical heritage, records and manuscripts.
    On this occasion, the District Magistrate honored District Panchayati Raj Officer Shri Iftikhar Ahmed, Sub-Divisional Officer (Daudnagar) Shri Amit Rajan, District Public Relations Officer Smt. Shweta Priyadarshi and District Art and Culture Officer Shri Kumar Pappu Raj for their outstanding contributions. Additionally, the 8 distinguished individuals were honored for providing significant support in the preservation and digitization of rare and historical manuscripts available in the district.
