Aurangabad. A review meeting regarding the progress of loan applications received under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (Free Electricity Scheme) was held in the office chamber of the District Magistrate, Smt. Abhilasha Sharma. Representatives from various banks including the Lead District Manager (LDM),officials from the Electricity Department and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the District Magistrate conducted a detailed review of the loan applications pending with various banks under the scheme. She instructed all bank representatives to ensure the speedy processing of loan applications from eligible beneficiaries so that the maximum number of consumers could avail the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana.
The District Magistrate gave clear instructions that the rejection of loan applications must be kept to a minimum. She stated that applications should be rejected only for genuine and unavoidable reasons. If an application contains errors or lacks necessary documents, the applicant should be guided and assisted in providing the required documentation so that the application can be approved.
She told the bank representatives that the objective of the scheme is to extend the benefits of solar energy to the maximum number of eligible consumers. Therefore, banks should make the loan approval process simple, transparent and time-bound and adopt a positive approach towards approving the maximum number of loans.
She remarked that the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana is an ambitious scheme of both the State and Central governments, and the role of banks is crucial for its successful implementation.
Deputy Development Commissioner Smt. Anupam Singh, the Lead District Manager (LDM), bank representatives and concerned officials from the Electricity Department were present at the meeting.
