Patna. The Bihar government is considering stricter legal measures to crack down on organised examination paper leak rackets, with Janata Dal (United) MLA Shyam Rajak stating that provisions of the Goonda Act may be invoked against those involved in such crimes.
According to Rajak, the proposed move aims to dismantle organised networks responsible for recurring paper leaks and restore public confidence in the state’s recruitment and examination system. He emphasised that the government is committed to ensuring fair and transparent examinations for students and job aspirants.
The proposal has sparked political debate ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, with opposition parties questioning the government’s handling of previous paper leak incidents, while the ruling alliance maintains that stronger legal action is necessary to deter offenders.
If implemented, the measure would mark one of the state’s toughest legal responses to examination-related fraud, signalling a stricter approach against organised criminal groups involved in paper leak cases.
