konch (GayaJi). The tap-water scheme in Kathautiya village has been non-functional for the past ten days, leading to a severe drinking water crisis across approximately 125 households. According to villagers, the supply has halted due to a malfunction in the submersible pump. On Tuesday morning, residents reported that despite lodging multiple complaints via the department’s toll-free number, no action has been taken so far. Villagers Mukesh Yadav, Virendra Nath Kishore, Vinay Manjhi and Pramod Manjhi stated that the lack of water has brought daily chores to a standstill, forcing women to fetch water from distant sources. The village is also home to around 30 Mahadalit families, who are bearing the brunt of the hardship. The villagers have urged the administration to repair the submersible pump immediately and restore the water supply.
