Pune. A court in Vadgaon Maval, Pune, on Friday remanded the two accused in the high-profile Ketan Agarwal murder case—Siya Goyal and her alleged associate Chetan Chaudhary—to 14 days of judicial custody after the expiry of their police remand. The case pertains to the alleged murder of 25-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal, who died after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort in June.
Investigators told the court that the probe is now focused on strengthening the case through forensic and digital evidence, as there are no eyewitnesses to the alleged crime. Police are examining mobile phone records, deleted messages, location data and other electronic evidence to establish the sequence of events. They are also seeking permission to conduct polygraph (lie detector) tests and AI-based gait analysis of the accused to corroborate the evidence collected so far.
Police have also confirmed that Ketan Agarwal’s mobile phone remained with the prime accused, Siya Goyal, for some time after his death before it was handed over to his family. Investigators are examining whether any data or digital evidence was deleted or tampered with during that period. The investigation is continuing, and officials have stated that all evidence is being scientifically analysed before the filing of the chargesheet.
