New Delhi. The makers of Dada, the biopic on former India captain Sourav Ganguly, unveiled Rajkummar Rao’s first-look poster on Ganguly’s 54th birthday. The poster recreates Ganguly’s iconic jersey-waving celebration at Lord’s, offering the first official glimpse of Rao in the legendary cricketer’s role.
The reveal received mixed reactions on social media. While many praised the tribute to Ganguly’s historic moment, others criticized the poster’s editing, with some comparing it to AI-generated artwork and saying it lacked a realistic finish.
Despite the online criticism, several Bollywood celebrities, including Ali Fazal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Neha Dhupia, and Manushi Chhillar, praised Rajkummar Rao’s transformation and wished the team well.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under Luv Films, Dada chronicles Sourav Ganguly’s life and cricketing journey. Ganguly had earlier expressed confidence in Rajkummar Rao’s casting, calling him the right choice to portray his story on screen.
