Gayaji. In anticipation of the proposed visit of India’s Vice President, to Gaya on July 11, the district administration and traffic police have promulgated an extensive traffic management plan aimed at ensuring uncompromised VVIP security while facilitating the orderly movement of the public.
The special traffic regulations will remain in force from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday across several arterial roads in Gaya and Bodh Gaya. During this period, vehicular movement will be substantially regulated, with restrictions imposed on multiple strategic corridors.
According to the advisory issued by the Traffic Police, the movement of heavy vehicles will be completely prohibited on the stretch extending from Manpur via the Bypass to the Bodh Gaya Underpass. However, emergency response vehicles, including ambulances, fire tenders and other essential service vehicles, have been exempted from the restrictions.
Similarly, all categories of vehicles will be barred from entering the route connecting Khatkachak, BIPARD, Gate No. 5, Airport Mor and Dhanawan Mor. Access along this corridor will be reserved exclusively for emergency and indispensable service vehicles throughout the enforcement period.
To mitigate inconvenience to commuters, the administration has delineated alternative routes. Motorists travelling towards Bodh Gaya may proceed via Sikaria Mor–Magadh Medical College–Cherki Road, while those approaching from Manpur have been advised to use the Kendui–Rajapur–Bodh Gaya route.
The district administration has appealed to residents to exhibit restraint and civic responsibility by adhering to the notified diversions and refraining from travelling through restricted corridors unless absolutely necessary.
The administration further clarified that all emergency and essential services will continue to function uninterrupted and that adequate arrangements have been instituted to minimise inconvenience to the general public during the temporary traffic restrictions.
