New Delhi/Ranchi. Jharkhand showcased six of its Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged handloom products at Bharat Tex 2026, India’s flagship global textile exhibition, with the aim of promoting the state’s rich textile heritage and creating new business opportunities for local weavers and artisans. The Jharkhand Pavilion was inaugurated by Industries Minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on Tuesday.
The minister described Bharat Tex 2026 as an important platform for connecting Jharkhand’s traditional textile products with national and international buyers, attracting investment, and integrating the state’s textile industry into global value chains. Senior officials of the Industries Department, including Director Vishal Sagar and Additional Secretary Preeti, were also present at the inauguration.
Bharat Tex 2026, being held from July 14 to 17 at Bharat Mandapam, has brought together manufacturers, exporters, buyers, investors, policymakers, start-ups, technology providers, and artisans from India and abroad, making it one of the world’s largest integrated textile events.
